Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay right outside Åndalsnes. The owners are incredibly understanding and we had an amazing time. The room we stayed in was just as cute in person as the pictures online and being able to explore the family’s garden was the cherry on top.

I spent two nights at Ytterbakke gård during a clay and straw workshop with a small group of eight participants and our wonderful hosts. Edda and Per Jonas were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The homemade food was delicious, and the rooms were clean and cozy, with a lovely historical atmosphere. The overall interior was super nice, blending comfort with authentic charm. I highly recommend Ytterbakke gård to anyone - whether you prefer relaxing indoors by the fireplace or enjoying the many outdoor opportunities - or both!

Jeg var på Ytterbakke Gård i sammenheng med en workshop i mars i år, og fikk to flotte netter på denne gården. Edda og PJ gjorde det lille ekstra for at vi skulle få den best mulige opplevelsen av oppholdet vårt, og både rom, fasiliteter og fellesarealer var fine, rene og mega hyggelige! For å ikke snakke om det hjemmelagede brødet og de gode middagene vi fikk servert de dagene vi var der 🙂 Tipp topp tommel opp for hele pakka!

Wir haben zwei Nächte bei Edda und ihrer Familie verbracht. Es war wirklich die beste Unterkunft, die wir in 2 Wochen Norwegen hatten. Das Zimmer war super gemütlich, die Küche war bestens ausgestattet und die Sanitäranlagen waren wirklich super sauber und modern. Die Gastgeberin war super nett und oft ansprechbar für ihre Gäste. Die Lage ist traumhaft schön, wir können die Unterkunft wirklich jedem empfehlen. Danke, Edda! 🙂

Gjestfritt, vakkert sted og utrolig god mat. Besøket var i forbindelse med en workshop. Oppholdet var inspirerende og både mat, rom og gjestfrihet finnes det ingenting å utsette på. Stedet ligger nært Trollstigen og andre flotte naturopplevelser.

We had a fantastic stay at Edda and Per Jonas’s farm. Åndalsnes is a stunning city in western Norway and the farm is situated in a lush and verdant valley surrounded by majestic mountains- anyone who’s ever been to California will think Yosemite has nothing on this magical place. |The farmhouse where we stayed is split into two- Edda and her family live on one side and the other has been converted into guest rooms with a massive shared kitchen and living room/ dining room. All of the rooms are cozy and charming. The common area has a wood burning stove. |The surrounding gardens are abound with all the fresh vegetables, berries, and fruits you could ever dream of and Edda was kind enough to let us pick all the produce we needed for our meals. |There is a sweet rabbit and two farm cats that my four year old daughter enjoyed playing with. In fact, Edda’s daughters are similarly aged to ours, so we had all the four year old toys and equipment to make the stay super enjoyable for the entire family- there is even a giant trampoline!|Edda is so kind and offered to bake Kanelsnurer with me and my daughter so we learned from a pro- the house smelled divine. We loved chatting with Edda and her husband Per Jonas and learning more about local recommendations in the surrounding area- they are both so kind and friendly.|Finally, as trail runners and avid hikers, Åndalses and the Romsdalen valley does not disappoint. There is fantastic trail running and hiking right outside the door and if you’re willing to drive a little some spectacular nearby trails as well. Thanks again to Edda and Per Jonas for an amazing stay, this was the highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a quiet, scenic, off the beaten path vacation in one of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever seen.

This place is amazing! ||||I had a wonderful time during my summer break with several friends at Ytterbakke in Åndalsnes. The place has a cosy atmosphere, with very high standard in every room, and there is many rooms which makes this place perfect for groups that are traveling. During my stay we played a lot of games in the big living room, hiked in several of the surrounding mountains near by, enjoyed morning baths in the river and cuddled with the animals at the farm. ||||The hosts, Edda and Per Jonas, made our stay unforgettable by providing us with great recommendations of trips in Åndalsnes and showing us around. Per Jonas showed us his farm, and Edda baked us the best sandwiches I have ever tasted! ||||Hope to be back again this summer 🙂
